Ohana Institute's Student-Led Education Conference began 12 years ago as a way to give students' a voice in how the future of education looks. Allen and Lettye Burgtorf began a K-12 personalized-based learning, holistic approach private school named Ohana Institute in 2012. As the school grew, so did the interest for state-of-the-art educational materials, how to incorporate Ohana's core values into school systems around the world, and so much more. Lettye and Allen also recognized a need for a conference that is run by the students themselves, while also sharing influential new educational ideas and opportunities. And thus began the Global Education Conference.

The collective goal of the conference is to ignite the exchange of perspectives and solutions on the topics of interest by showcasing the voice and leadership of students in an engaging environment with some of the nation’s most well recognized leaders in education and government. The menu of activities includes student moderated panel discussions, engaging round-table conversations, interactive workshops, and student presentations, as well as, a host of relaxing evening activities. This year, attendees will have the unique opportunity to see the new Ohana Institute free-standing school, which opened in the Fall of 2018.

The information shared is sure to provide participants with new and innovative approaches for successful educational outcomes in the coming months and years ahead.
